Online Portfolio - Web Sites

Listed below is just some of the more recent web sites that I have
produced.
Grace Gems
Grace Gems is a ministry that archives and emails puritan quotes. They
have
been online since 2000, and now have more than 8,000 daily email
subscribers, and their website received more than a million hits last
year alone. Caudill Web Solutions came in and updated their design,
using a template idea that they had put together. This site is still
under development.
Chick-fil-A Nine Mile Road
If you have ever eaten at Chick-fil-A, you know why I am such a big fan
of them. This is the second Chick-fil-A franchise that I have
had the honor of creating a web site for. In addition to a custom
design, features for this site include an employee section of the web
site, with individual accounts for employees. Dissolving
images of the store create the header, with a drop down horizontal
navigation. This site is still under development.
The Paragon Distance Learning Program
The Paragon [meaning in search of excellence] Pet Grooming School is
recognized world wide as the leader in dog grooming and styling. We
have joined with them in developing an online school that will mirror
the same classroom training that students receive on-site. Features
include automatic test scoring, grade book, forums, chat rooms, a
message center, blogs, and many other student tools. This is the
largest project I have ever taken on, and is still under development as
course material is created.
New Heights Baptist Church
The design for New Heights Baptist is actually based off of the exact
same design for South Drive Baptist, just with a different color
scheme. I designed their entire logo, as well as the site. While the
entire layout is the same as South Drive's, it has a modified color
scheme. While they had a website before, this brought them up to the
modern web sphere not only in design, but in site management. Behind
their site is a powerful content management system, allowing them to
update the site at their convenience, if desired.
The Zone
The Zone is the youth ministry of South Drive Baptist Church
(above). While it is a section of the main church site, it is
a completely different design, and utilizes a content management system
behind the scenes. This is still under construction, but we have large
plans for it!
South Drive Baptist Church
South Drive Baptist was the first client that I actually have
done a complete site without ever seeing them face to face. It went
very smoothly, and it was a great pleasure to work with them. It is
always a lot of fun to work with churches, and this one was no
different. If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop in on Sunday!
This site is still under construction.
GO! Ministries
This is a site that I had talked about with friends, and so I decided
to make it myself. It is a Christian site, and is dedicated to
"Igniting a passion for the renown of God." All the graphics are my
own. Be sure to check out the animated header. I also created
an online community for it using phpbb3. This site
is currently under construction, and I work on it whenever I get free
time.
Disaster Recovery (the Kroger Co.)
I have the pleasure of working with the Kroger Company, and one of the
responsibilities I have had is creating an internal web site. This
design was not used, and so I was able to display it here. Because of
the sensitive and confidential information on it, this is not available
online.
Administration Functions
I wanted to give you a glimpse of what the Content Management System
that I use looks like. When I work with individuals and companies, we
have two options for site updates: either I can do site updates, which
includes unlimited updates, custom graphics promotions and full
support. The second option that I give allows you to log in and update
the site yourself. I still offer custom design, full support, training,
and promotion, but it allows you to update the content yourself. The
Content Management System (CMS) that I use is website baker, which is
an open source CMS. I also have used Drupal, Wordpress, phpBB, as well
as experiment with other systems.
Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati
It was a pleasure to work with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. They found that a web site
allows them to publish much more information that they were previously
unable to distribute. This site features a back
end that allows them to log in and modify page content with a very nice
WYSIWYG editor. This site is very colorful, with several different page
themes/backgrounds.
Epilepsy Foundation - Online Community
In addition to the Epilepsy site, I created an online community. The
software used was phpbb3 - arguably the most powerful forum software
available today.
Humbert Copper Connect
This was my first industrial company that I had the pleasure of
working for. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about busing,
copper connects, insulators, and all kinds of other fun stuff. It was
great to work with them in developing not only a complete custom web
site, but cutsheets, and other different printed material. I worked a
lot with photography and images in this site, editing and customizing
them.
Chick-fil-A Eastgate Mall
I have had the pleasure to work with Chick-fil-A in the past years, and
help promote their brand. I am very excited to launch the Chick-fil-A
Eastgate Mall web site! It will direct online catering, display a
calendar of events, and show how Chick-fil-A gives back to the
community. I handle all online promotions for Chick-fil-A
Eastgate Mall, and have the pleasure of promoting a place
that
you can eat that will treat you with dignity, honor, and respect.
Ponderings
Ponderings is a blog that I started. It isn't a blog that is about me,
though. Instead, it records quotes that I have come across that have
made me think (thus the title, Ponderings). It reveals my ideological
and theological side (rather than my professional side), as most of the
topics have to do with theology, evangelism, and Puritan theology.
Updates vary from when I have time. Ponderings is powered by Wordpress,
the most powerful blogging software available today.
Don't Die Stupid
This site was created to broaden my design capabilities. I normally
don't describe myself as "emo," and I really don't have a fascination
with death. I am passionate about what this site presents, though. The
graphics are very unique for me, but
so is this site. While it looks like it has to do with death, it
actually contains Life. The content is no different than that of my
other sites, except by its appearance. All design and graphics are
original.
Eschatology
I redesigned this site from the original, but the wealth of information
stayed the same. I always had a fascination with eschatology, and after
doing years of research on it, I chose to publish it in the easiest and
cheapest way I knew how to. My very first site was about
this, but I chose to make a new design for the same information (you
can still view it in the original design if you choose to). The base
design of this site was a free template that I used.
The Cross
I titled this this site "The Cross: the blazing center of the glory of
God" after reading one of John Piper's books. What I wanted to do with
this site is try to declare how glorious God is, and how great,
wonderful and awesome He is. The cross is what speaks most powerful of
both God's grace and glory (although His grace is also His glory), and
I wanted to attempt to display some of what God has done for me and
taught me. This site was one of my first experiences with advanced css,
which I used a free template as a foundation.
BBTuth
This is a site I created for a local youth group. I consider this one
of my better designs, and it is packed with stuff! From games to jokes,
articles to daily devotionals, this site is huge, and is kinda cool.
Customized for teens in the surrounding area (school logos), but
content packed for anyone around the world, I think this site is great!
While this has been disbanded at the request of the client, there is
still an archive available for viewing.
BBTuth Forum
This is a forum I created for the same youth group as above, although
it reaches many more than just that small group of teens. I use phpbb
for forum software, and I have had fun learning MYSQL and gaining
experience in this area. After two years, this has since been disbanded
at the request of the client.
BBTuth Chat
After creating the forum above, I realized that a lot of users used the
forum just to talk to each other. They wanted something that acted like
a chat room. Being very weary of chat rooms, I created this. The
difference between this chat and a normal chat room is the security. To
post or view anything in the chat room, users must be registered
through the forum (they both act in tangent), and everything said is
logged and reviewed by moderators. It is a safe version of a chat room.
After two years, this has since been disbanded at the request of the
client.
